Call for Papers

Authors' guidelines

Submissions focused on transnational corporations (TNCs), foreign direct investment (FDI), institutional innovation, or international developments are warmly welcomed. In keeping with the journal’s editorial statement, submissions dealing with topics related to China are strongly encouraged. Preference will be given to submissions that focus on clear policy implications. TNCR publishes special issues on particular topics; individuals with a proposal for a special issue are encouraged to contact the Managing Editor(s) at info@tnc-online.org.
Papers submitted for publication should be in both English and Chinese. Submissions should be sent in Microsoft Word format by e-mail to info@tnc-online.org accompanied by a statement that the text (or parts thereof) has not been published or submitted for publication elsewhere. Papers should not normally exceed ten pages (3,000 words) in length. All papers should have an abstract not exceeding 100 words in length, including key words. Research notes should be between five and eight pages in length. Book reviews and other information should be around 1,000 words in length, with the exception of review essays, which may be article-length. Footnotes should appear at the bottom of the page to which they refer. An alphabetical list of references should appear at the end of the manuscript. Appendices, tables, and figures should appear at the end of the paper on separate pages.

Submissions (including references) should be typed within standard margins. Pages should be numbered consecutively. The first page of a paper should contain: (i) title; (ii) name(s) and institutional affiliation(s) of the author(s); (iii) mailing address, e-mail address, telephone and facsimile numbers of the author (or primary author, if more than one); (iv) biographical information of the author(s) with a recent photograph. Authors should ensure that each submitted paper contains an abstract, an introduction, anda conclusion, each highlighting the paper’s policy implications.
TNCR editors work on a voluntary basis. Submissions should include a contribution of US$20 per printed page to cover the cost of high-level peer reviews, editing and printing. This is payable by authors themselves and/or their affiliated institutions or granting agencies. For submissions that are in either English or Chinese only, an extra charge of US$10 per printed page may be applied to cover the costs of translating the submission into the second language of the journal. Contributions do not affect editorial decisions. Instructions for making contributions are given once a submission has been accepted for publication.

Review policy

TNCR welcomes submissions on any aspect(s) of transnational corporations (TNCs), foreign direct investment (FDI), institutional innovation, or social development. Authors from business, government and academic sectors are encouraged to submit papers to this unique journal. The Advisory and Review Boards of TNCR are comprised of well-known individuals from academic, enterprise, and policy circles. The primary role of board members is to ensure that the journal publishes materials of consistently high quality and remains editorially independent. As such, each submission is subject to a double-blind review by members of the Boards and/or relevant organizations, who are asked either to accept or reject the submission.
To expedite publication, all aspects of the process from submission to correspondence and editing are done electronically. In order to circulate the work of the authors selected for publication as widely as possible, TNCR retains the copyright to all documents appearing in the journal (articles, editorials, comments, etc.).
