Abstract
This paper argues that relationships between countries and transnational corporations are not zero-sum games, but entail ‘complex governance’, where all actors must be considered in order to understand changes in the international system.

Mia Mahmudur Rahim
Mia Mahmudur Rahim earned a Bachelor’s degree with Honours in Law and a Master’s degree in Law from the University of Dhaka, Bangladesh. He completed a second Master’s degree, in International Economic Law, as a Chevening Scholar at Warwick University in the United Kingdom. Rahim also earned a Master’s degree in Public Administration as a Graduate Scholar at the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy at the National University of Singapore. He is currently pursuing doctoral research in the Department of Law at Australia’s Macquarie University with the Macquarie University Research Excellence Scholarship. By profession, Rahim is a Judge of the Court of Laws in Bangladesh.
